The mission of the Mira Theatre Guild is to inspire and empower consciousness and compassion in Vallejo area artists and audiences through high-quality, community-based productions that range from the classics to new works.

Our focus is on diversity, equity, and inclusion by:  

  • allowing affordable space for LGBTQ+ and multicultural ensembles and community organizations; 

  • providing arts education programs that promote life-long learning; 

  • providing learning experiences in all aspects of production and management;

  • encompassing a wide-range of artistic expression.

We are a cornerstone of Vallejo, California's vibrant cultural scene, driven by a compelling mission and a set of core values that guide us in serving our community. Since World War II, the Guild has served Vallejo with affordable admissions to quality shows, hosting memorable community events, and enabled crossing that last mile between artistic ambition and presentation of the finished product.

Mira Theatre Guild is a community-focused performing arts organization, which owns and operates the Mira Theatre (formerly the historic Bay Terrace Theater). We believe that creative expression is transformative and helps build a healthier thriving community with greater mutual understanding.  We are committed to working with diverse local artists, writers, and producers, to produce and support community theatre and events so that we may bring our community together in shared positive experiences. By providing low or no cost use of our theatre and production spaces to independent producers, actors, musicians, community organizations, and neighbors we provide one of our city's most beautiful historic venues for the purposes of creativity and community that may otherwise be unavailable and unaffordable.
