Bay Terrace Theater Venue Information

The Bay Terrace Theater, home of the Mira Theatre Guild, offers space and support to host events both large and small. Whatever your requirements, from a full-stage theatrical production, to rehearsal space, to an intimate offsite meeting for three, we are able to help!

The Main Auditorium

Converted to a fully-functioning theatrical performance space in 1967, the Bay Terrace Theaterʼs Main Auditorium offers one of the largest main stages in the North Bay. Our stage measures 36ʼ in width and 25ʼ in depth (including a 4ʼ projection beyond the proscenium). With back-stage access to our Green Room, seating for 164, space for cabaret tables or an orchestra between the seats and stage, we have it all!

The Main Auditorium has a dedicated Lighting and Sound Control Booth offering a wide array of stage lighting and sound reinforcement options. There is an intercom system linking the Booth, the Main Stage, the Green Room and the Box Office/Lobby to facilitate quick communications and queuing. To ensure the comfort of guests the Main Auditorium also has a dedicated heating and cooling system.

Our Box Office is accessible from the front exterior of the building for ticket sales, and our Lobby has a Concessions Booth. Depending upon your needs we offer full staffing for the front of the house or you may opt to provide your own staff and services.

The North Wing

The North Wing of the Bay Terrace Theater encompasses three large rooms available individually or together to host smaller events, workshops, training seminars or even small, black-box theatrical productions. Each room measures 25ʼ x 29ʼ and can comfortably accommodate 30 people.

The Better Vallejo Room

In its typical configuration the Better Vallejo Room offers couches and chairs for informal gatherings or meetings. This room also includes catering support facilities such as a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and plenty of counter-top space for setup. The room may also be emptied of furniture for larger gatherings.

The Joan Burt Room

The Joan Burt Room acts as a completely empty space for quick configuration to whatever is required. Often used as a community Yoga studio, the JB Room also regularly hosts art installations, classroom seminars and even the occasional dance party.

The Dollie Nunn Room

The Dollie Nunn Room makes an excellent space for meetings or staging space for events in the Main Auditorium (such as costume preparation).

The North Wing Hallway

The North Wing Hallway itself is regularly used to display artwork from local Vallejo Artists. It is available for your art as well! Additionally, the hallway is wide enough to support the setup of tables and chairs as part of larger multi-room symposiums.

The South Wing

Not generally intended for public access, the South Wing of the Bay Terrace Theater exists to support full-fledged theatrical productions with a Workshop, a Flat Room, and a Costume/Prop Room. These facilities are available to you should your production warrant them. The entire South Wing, along with most of our other spaces, is easily secured to prevent access—thus protecting your assets and belongings during multi-day productions.

Exterior Space & Parking

Situated on nearly one and one half acres of land adjacent to the Napa River/Mare Island Straits, the Bay Terrace Theater offers parking for 60-70 cars in a well-lit parking lot. There is plenty of street lighting available along our front sidewalk and the entire facility is safe and secure. We have a ramp for wheelchair access—please call in advance and we will be happy to assist you.

We ask that you help us respect our neighborhood's limited street parking and use our lot rather than parking on the street in front of the theater. Our parking lot is also regularly used in warm weather for outdoor events such as flea-markets and live music performances.

Production Support

In addition to our physical space, the Mira Theatre Guild is pleased to offer Production Support and assistance should you require it. We can arrange for sound and lighting expertise, marketing support, access to props and costumes, front-of-the-house staffing, concessions, ticket sales (including online sales), etc.

Additionally, the Bay Terrace Theater has two pianos— a spinet, and a baby grand —available for your use. With advance notification either piano may be moved to any of the rooms in the North Wing or to the Main Auditorium (movement of the baby grand from its usual home in the auditorium will entail an additional charge however).
